The Ottawa Senators have signed defensemen Kristians Rubins to a one-year, two-way deal worth $750,000.

The contract carries a salary of $130,000 if Rubins is to play in the minors.

The 24-year-old spent the 2021-2022 season in the Toronto Maple Leafs organization. He made his NHL debut for the team, and had just two other appearances.

The remainder of Rubins' season was spent with their AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies. In 58 games, he had one goal and 10 assists.
