The Ottawa Senators have placed forward Austin Watson on the NHL's COVID-19 protocol list.

Being in the COVID-19 protocol does not necessarily mean Watson has tested positive for the coronavirus.

Watson made his season debut on Tuesday after suffering an ankle injury during the pre-season.

The 29-year-old Watson has 39 goals and 48 assists in 342 career NHL games with the Nashville Predators and Senators.

Ottawa hosts the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday.
