The Ottawa Senators just can't escape the injury bug on defence.
Rookie defenceman Carter Yakemchuk exited Tuesday's game against Florida after being on the receiving end of a high hit from Noah Gregor in the third period. Gregor was assessed a match penalty.
Yakemchuk was slow to get up before skating off with assistance.
After the loss, Senators coach Travis Green said he had no update on Yakemchuk.
Picked seventh overall in the 2024 draft, Yakemchuk was playing his fourth NHL game on Tuesday.
Defencemen Jake Sanderson, Thomas Chabot, Dennis Gilbert and Nick Jensen are all injured for Ottawa.
