Macklin Celebrini missed practice on Tuesday as the San Jose Sharks continue to gather information about his injury.
The Sharks captain was a late scratch on Monday against the Dallas Stars despite taking warm-ups. The team said Celebrini was dealing with a lower-body injury.
On Tuesday after practice, head coach Ryan Warsofsky said Celebrini is considered day-to-day. Warsofsky also said the injury did not occur on Monday.
"It didn’t happen in warm-ups," Warsofsky said on Tuesday, according to Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now. "This has been something we’ve been trying to manage here a little bit."
Celebrini, 20, was off to a strong start with five assists in two games before going down, after scoring a franchise-record 115 points last season.
The Sharks return to the action Thursday on the road against the St. Louis Blues.
