Another defenceman is headed to San Jose.
The Sharks claimed Nick Leddy off waivers from the St. Louis Blues on Thursday shortly after signing fellow blue-liner Dmitry Orlov, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported.
Leddy, 34, spent the past three-plus seasons in St. Louis, but is coming off a season in which he appeared in only 31 games, recording two goals and three assists.
He is entering the final season of a four-year contract worth $4 million annually.
The Eden Prairie, Minn., native is a veteran of 1,042 NHL games with the Chicago Blackhawks, New York Islanders, Detroit Red Wings and Blues.
He has 75 career goals and 341 assists, and won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Blackhawks in 2013.
Now, he'll head to a Sharks squad looking to improve from its last-place showing of one season ago.
