The San Jose Sharks agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with forward Ryan Carpenter on Saturday, the first day of free agency. The team did not release the value of the deal.
Carpenter split the 2022-23 campaign with the New York Rangers, where he had a goal and two assists in 22 games, and their AHL affiliate in Hartford (21 goals, 23 assists in 51 games).
Carpenter is a familiar face in San Jose — he spent parts of five seasons with the Sharks from 2013-14 to 2017-18.
The 32-year-old has appeared in 330 NHL games over parts of eight seasons with the Sharks, Golden Knights, Blackhawks, Flames, and Rangers and has a total of 27 goals and 72 career points.
