Michael Misa is headed back to San Jose.
The Sharks announced Tuesday that the forward has been recalled from Canada's world junior roster. In a corresponding move, defenceman Shakir Mukhamadullin was placed on injured reserve.
Misa, 18, has missed time this season with a lower-body injury and hasn't played for the Sharks since Nov. 1 against the Colorado Avalanche.
In seven games with San Jose, Misa has recorded one goal and two assists. In two games with the team’s AHL affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda, he has one assist.
At the world juniors, Misa appeared in all seven games for Canada, posting two goals and five assists as the team won bronze.
The second-overall pick in last summer's NHL Draft, Misa was one of three NHL players loaned to Canada for the tournament.
