San Jose Sharks winger Timo Meier, one of the top candidates to be dealt prior to the March 3 trade deadline, is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, the team told reporters on Sunday.
Per Corey Masisek of The Athletic, Meier's status for Monday's game against the Seattle Kraken is unknown.
The Swiss-born Meier is second on the rebuilding Sharks in scoring this season with 52 points (31 goals, 21 assists) in 57 games.
Picked ninth overall in the 2015 NHL Draft by the Sharks, the six-foot-one, 210-pound Meier has 154 goals and 162 assists for 316 points in 451 career games with San Jose.
Meier, 26, is eligible for unrestricted free agency this off-season after his four-year, $24-million deal expires.
