The San Jose Sharks have signed defenceman Cole Clayton to a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced Tuesday.
The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed or reported.
Clayton, 25, appeared in 63 games with the AHL's Cleveland Monsters in 2024–25, totaling 15 points (one goal, 14 assists) and finished a plus-five. He also played in six Calder Cup playoff games.
Over his four-year pro career — all with the Monsters — the undrafted Strathmore, Alta., native has skated in 224 AHL games, recording 61 points (12 goals, 49 assists).
Before his pro career, Clayton spent four seasons with the WHL's Medicine Hat Tigers. The right-handed defenceman led all WHL blueliners in goals (nine) and points (30) in the 2020-21 season.
