San Jose's new star is officially signed.
The Sharks signed second-overall pick Ivar Stenberg to a standard entry-level contract, the team announced Thursday.
Stenberg is the reigning Swedish junior hockey player of the year and led the World Junior team to a gold medal in January, recording four goals and six assists in the tournament.
Stenberg is expected to be a key forward for the Sharks in his rookie season, playing with San Jose's young superstar Macklin Celebrin and fellow Swede William Eklund.
