Sharks sign defenceman Matt Benning to a four-year contract

The San Jose Sharks have signed free agent defenceman Matt Benning to a four-year contract, general manager Mike Grier announced Wednesday.

The 28-year-old has spent the past two seasons with the Nashville Predators, where he amassed 11 assists in 65 games.
