The San Jose Sharks are adding a veteran presence to its mix.
Mason Marchment is signing a five-year deal worth approximately $40 million with the Sharks on Wednesday, per Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, sending the seven-year NHLer to his sixth career team.
The 30-year-old had 19 goals and 45 points in 68 regular-season games split between the Seattle Kraken and Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Uxbridge, Ont., native previously played for the Dallas Stars, Florida Panthers and Toronto Maple Leafs, racking up 370 career games. In that time, Marchment has 95 goals and 234 points.
He is coming off a four-year, $18 million contract he signed with the Stars in the 2022 off-season.
Marchment's late father Bryan was a member of the Sharks organization prior to his passing, serving in both an on- and off-ice role.
