A veteran blue liner has become available.
The San Jose Sharks have placed defenceman Nick Leddy on waivers, per Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman on Sunday.
The 34-year-old has played 19 games for the Sharks this season, his first in San Jose, recording no goals and four assists.
Leddy was drafted by the Wild in 2009 and made his NHL debut with the Chicago Blackhawks during the 2010-11 season. The Minnesota native was on Chicago's 2012-13 Stanley Cup-winning team.
Leddy has 75 goals and 345 assists in 1,061 regular-season games. In 137 playoff games, Leddy scored eight goals and 31 assists.
His best seasons were with the New York Islanders from 2014 to 2021. He has also played for the Detroit Red Wings and St. Louis Blues.
The Sharks are in Florida on Monday to take on the Panthers.
