Spencer Stastney is staying put.
The left-shot defenceman has signed a one-year contract extension with the Edmonton Oilers with an AAV of $1.525 million, the team announced.
Stastney, who was originally selected by the Nashville Predators in the fifth round of the 2019 NHL Draft, was traded to the Oilers in December in exchange for a 2027 third-round pick.
The 26-year-old appeared in 30 games with the Predators last season, recording one goal and eight assists. He then played 36 games with the Oilers, scoring one goal.
Both totals marked career highs.
