Dallas Stars defenceman Miro Heiskanen exited Thursday's game against the Colorado Avalanche with a lower-body injury after he ran into goalie Scott Wedgewood, the team said.
After the overtime loss, coach Peter DeBoer said the team will run more tests on Heiskanen and will likely have a further update Friday.
Heiskanen is the Stars' top-scoring defenceman with four goals and 23 assists in 37 games this season.
Last season, Heiskanen set a franchise record for a Stars defenceman with 73 points.
