It will be a while before Matt Duchene is back on the ice.
The Dallas Stars forward will miss approximately three months after surgery to repair a core injury, the team announced Monday.
Duchene has not played this season. The Stars placed him on injured reserve before opening night with a lower-body injury.
The 34-year-old missed a good chunk of last season as well, recording 16 goals and 29 assists in 57 games. He added two goals and seven assists in six playoff games.
The Stars signed Duchene to a four-year, $18-million contract extension before last season. Since joining Dallas in 2023-24, Duchene has scored 71 goals and 192 points.
Dallas has begun this season at 2-2-1 and returns to action Tuesday against the Colorado Avalanche.
