Matt Duchene won't be available to begin the 2026-27 season.
The Dallas Stars placed the forward on the injured reserve on Wednesday with a lower-body injury.
Duchene missed a good chunk of last season with the Stars, recording 16 goals and 29 assists in 57 games. He added two goals and seven assists in six playoff games.
The Stars signed the 34-year-old to a four-year, $18-million contract extension before the 2025-26 season. Since joining Dallas in 2023-24, Duchene has scored 71 goals and 192 points.
Dallas opens its regular season on Friday against the St. Louis Blues.
