The Dallas Stars could be getting some scoring back in their lineup for Game 2 of the Western Conference Final.
Speaking to reporters Friday, head coach Peter DeBoer said that injured centre Roope Hintz is a possibility for the second game of their series against the Edmonton Oilers.
Hintz has been out since leaving Game 4 of the Stars' second-round series against the Colorado Avalanche with a lower-body injury.
“He's getting closer,” DeBoer said Thursday. "Skated yesterday, skated today. So, you know, hopeful for Game 2."
In 11 games this post-season, the 27-year-old has two goals and four assists. In the 2022-23 playoffs, Hintz scored 10 goals and had 24 points in 19 games.
Hintz is coming off his third straight 30-goal regular season, finishing second on the Stars in goals and tied for third in points.
Dallas dropped Game 1 to the Oilers in double-overtime on Thursday night.
