The Dallas Stars have signed defenceman Connor Punnett to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Thursday.
Punnett's contract will begin next season.
The 20-year-old from Powassan, Ont., has nine goals and 41 assists for 50 points in 59 games with the Oshawa Generals and Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League this season.
Punnett, who was undrafted, served as the Colts' captain until he was traded to the Generals on Jan. 9.
He had 14 goals and 34 assists for 48 points in 66 games with the Colts last season.
