The Stanley Cup finalist Dallas Stars have added defender Mark Pysyk to their blue line, the club announced Saturday.

Pysyk joins the club on a one-year deal worth $750,000.

"Mark is a solid, puck-moving defenceman and gives us another right-handed shot on the backend," said Stars GM Jim Nill, via a team release. "We feel that his skillset lends itself to how we ask our defensemen to activate and he will be a good fit."

The 28-year-old spent the past four years in Florida, and the four before that in Buffalo. He posted 18 points in 58 games for the Panthers last season, averaging 12:45 minutes per night. He averaged more than 18 per night during his three previous seasons in the Sunshine State.
