Mark Stone had some harsh words for his team after their embarrassing performance against the struggling Senators.
Following a 7-1 loss on Sunday in Ottawa, the Vegas Golden Knights captain didn’t hold back after the game.
"It was looking like an NHL team vs. a junior team," Stone said, per Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Danny Webster.
Stone, a former Senator, also saw his franchise-record 14-game point streak come to an end in the loss.
The Senators entered Sunday’s game having lost two straight, including a 4-1 home defeat to the Carolina Hurricanes the previous night.
However, that wasn't the case on Sunday, as Ottawa controlled the pace from start to finish, outshooting Vegas 31-20.
"It's late January. Is this a practice thing, or is it showing the hell up on time?" head coach Bruce Cassidy said, per Webster.
One bright spot for Vegas came from newly acquired Rasmus Andersson, who scored his first goal as a Golden Knight. It was the team’s only goal of the game.
The Golden Knights remain atop the Pacific Division with 62 points and visit the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday.
