Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson has officially been ruled out of Game 2 against the Florida Panthers and is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury, according to Capitals head coach Peter Laviolette.
Wilson was initially a game-time decision for Thursday after leaving Game 1 due to an undisclosed injury at the time. The Capitals then called up rookie forward Brett Leason on Thursday morning ahead of of Game 2.
Leason played in 36 games for the Capitals this season, registering three goals and three assists.
Wilson scored in Washington's Game 1 victory and had 24 goals to go with 28 assists in 78 regular-season games.
