Veteran defenceman Alex Edler agrees to one-year contract with Kings

Alexander Edler is switching teams for the first time in his 15 year career after agreeing to a contract with the Los Angeles Kings.

The contract is for one year and $3.5 million.

Edler, who has spent his entire year with the Vancouver Canucks, opted to test free agency for the first time at age 35 and will provide experience to the up and coming Kings.

In 925 career games, all with the Canucks, Edler has 99 goals and 409 points. Last season he had eight assists in 52 games.
