Washington Capitals sign D Louie Belpedio to two-year contract

Defenceman Louie Belpedio has signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Washington Capitals.

The deal was announced on Wednesday by the team and carries an average annual value of $775,000.

The 29-year-old played 66 games during the 2024-25 season with the Philadelphia Flyers' AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. He led all Lehigh Valley defencemen in assists with a career-high 23.

The Minnesota Wild selected Belpedio 80th overall in the third round of the 2014 NHL Draft.
