For years now, success for the Ottawa Senators has been measured with an eye to the future, the wins and losses of a season ultimately mattering less than internal growth and development of the team's young core.
But, as Ottawa opens its 30th training camp in franchise history on Wednesday, there's a sense of hope that the most painful of the team's rebuilding days may be behind them.
General manager Pierre Dorion and head coach D.J. Smith will address the media on the first day of camp, as the team begins to figure out if those hopes can be realized.
The entirety of their availability can be seen right here on sportsnet.ca, starting at 1:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
