Veteran defenceman Jack Johnson has a new home.
The 38-year-old signed on for a professional tryout with the Minnesota Wild, the team announced on Monday.
Johnson, of Indianapolis, played with the Columbus Blue Jackets last season, appearing in 41 games and collecting six assists.
If he makes the Wild, they will be his seventh NHL team after previous stints with the Los Angeles Kings (2006-12), Blue Jackets (2012-18, 2024-25), Pittsburgh Penguins (2018-20), New York Rangers (2020-21), Colorado Avalanche (2021-23, 2023-24) and Chicago Blackhawks (2023).
Over 1,228 career games, Johnson owns 342 points (77 goals, 265 assists).
The six-foot-one, 227-pound blue liner was originally selected third overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2005 NHL Draft.
