The Minnesota Wild announced Monday that forward Sammy Walker has been traded to the Utah Hockey Club in exchange for future considerations.
Walker, 25, has spent the 2024-25 season with Minnesota's AHL affiliate, the Iowa Wild, recording 11 points (two goals, nine assists) in 30 games. Over 156 career AHL games with the Wild, he has 104 points (43 goals, 61 assists).
Originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning as the 200th overall pick in 2017, Walker signed a two-year, entry-level contract with Minnesota in the 2022 off-season. The Wild re-signed him to a one-year, two-way deal this past summer.
In the 13 NHL games the Minnesota native has appeared in — spread across both this season and last — Walker has tallied one goal and one assist.
