The Minnesota Wild will be without their captain when they take on a divisional rival.
Defenceman Jared Spurgeon will not play Tuesday night's game against the Winnipeg Jets due to an upper-body injury, the Wild announced shortly before puck drop.
It's unclear when Spurgeon suffered the injury.
The 36-year-old had been off to a hot start for the Wild to begin the season, scoring one goal and registering five points in six games, while averaging 22:22 of ice time per game.
A sixth-round pick in 2008, the 17-year veteran has played all 1,018 games with Minnesota. He was named captain in 2021.
The Wild are 4-1-1 to start the season.
