Minnesota Wild winger Mats Zuccarello will make his season debut Friday against the New York Islanders after being activated from the off-season injured reserve, according to Michael Russo of The Athletic.
Zuccarello was injured in September with a lower-body injury and was expected to be out a minimum of seven to eight weeks, resulting in him missing all of training camp and the first 15 games of the Wild's campaign.
Last season, the Norwegian veteran played in 69 games, notching 19 goals and 35 assists for 54 points.
This is some good news for Wild fans, who have seen their team get just 13 points through 15 games played, holding a record of 5-7-3.
Zuccarello is suiting up for his 16th season in the NHL. The 38-year-old holds career stats of 217 goals, 473 assists and 690 points in 904 games played.
