Avalanche sign defenceman Brad Hunt to two-year contract

The Colorado Avalanche boosted their blue-line depth by signing veteran defenceman Brad Hunt to a two-year contract Friday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Hunt scored three goals and 17 points in 56 games with the Vancouver Canucks this past season.

The 33-year-old from Maple Ridge, B.C., originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the Edmonton Oilers in 2013 after spending two seasons with the AHL’s Chicago Wolves.

Hunt has 22 goals and 76 points in 241 games over nine NHL seasons with the Oilers, St. Louis Blues, Nashville Predators, Vegas Golden Knights, Minnesota Wild and Canucks.
