Avalanche sign defenceman Ryan Graves to three-year contract

The Colorado Avalanche are bringing back defenceman Ryan Graves on a three-year deal, the team announced Monday.

Ryan Clark of The Athletic reports that the contract has an average cap hit of $3.16 million.

Graves played in 69 games with the Avalanche last season putting up nine goals, 26 points and an NHL-best plus-40 rating. He played in 15 post-season games in the Edmonton bubble this summer, putting up three points while averaging 20:11 of ice time.

The 25-year-old from Yarmouth, N.S., is coming off a one-year deal worth $735,00.
