The Colorado Avalanche have signed forward Alex Beaucage to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Wednesday.

Colorado drafted the 19-year-old forward 78th overall in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

Beaucage just finished his fourth year in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, finishing the 2020-21 regular season with 28 points in 22 games. He spent the first 14 games with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies but then was traded to the Victoriaville Tigres on Jan. 25 where he closed out the regular season.

The Trois-Rivieres, Que., native helped the Tigres to the President Cup final, scoring six goals and 11 assists in 10 post-season contests. Beaucage and the Tigres will take on the Val-d’Or Foreurs in the QMJHL championship, which begins on Thursday.

Beaucage has racked up 214 points in 209 career games throughout his QMJHL career.
