The St. Louis Blues extended defenceman Scott Perunovich to a one-year, $1.15-million deal on Tuesday, the club announced.

The 25-year-old dressed for 54 regular-season games for St. Louis last season, finishing with no goals and 17 assists while averaging just over 15 minutes of ice time.

Selected by the Blues in the second round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, Perunovich saw his offensive talents come together in his junior year at the University of Minnesota Duluth, where he finished his NCAA campaign ranked 10th in the nation in scoring.

Perunovich went on to win the 2020 Hobey Baker Memorial Award, given annually to the top U.S. collegiate player.
