The Boston Bruins will be without the services of No. 1 defenceman Charlie McAvoy when they take on the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night.

The Bruins announced shortly before puck drop that McAvoy will miss the game with an upper-body injury.

The severity of the injury was not immediately clear nor were there any indications as to when he was hurt.

McAvoy recorded 24:02 in ice time during the Bruins’ 3-2 overtime loss to the Flyers on Monday.

The 23-year-old is in the midst of a breakout campaign, collecting 22 points in 35 games to lead a revamped D-corps in Boston.
