Bruins sign goaltender Michael DiPietro to contract extension

The Boston Bruins have signed goaltender Michael DiPietro to a one-year, two-way contract extension through the 2024-25 season.

DiPietro’s deal will pay him a $775,000 cap hit when he is at the NHL level.

The 24-year-old has a 17-8-0-4 record plus a 2.52 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage in 26 appearances in the AHL with the Providence Bruins. He has appeared in three career NHL games where he has a 0-2 record with a 5.25 goals-against average and a .771 save percentage.

DiPietro was originally selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the third round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
