Canadiens add five players to NHL’s COVID-19 protocol list

The Montreal Canadiens have added goaltender Jake Allen and defencemen Ben Chiarot, Joel Edmundson, Jeff Petry and Chris Wideman to the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol list.

Goalie coach Eric Raymond was also added to the league’s protocol list joining Laurent Dauphin, Mike Hoffman, Artturi Lehkonen and Tyler Toffoli.

Goaltender Cayden Primeau and defenceman Corey Schueneman have been recalled from the AHL’s Laval Rocket.

Montreal also added its first group of players to the taxi squad assigning Brandon Baddock, Gianni Fairbrother, Cam Hillis and Michael McNiven. The players on the taxi squad will accompany the team on their three-game road trip.

The Canadiens are scheduled to visit the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday. The Lightning added four players including starting goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy and defenceman Mikhail Sergachev to the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol list Sunday.
