Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher exited Thursday’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes, the team announced during the third period.

Gallagher was not on the bench to start the third period, but the team did not give a reason for his absence.

Gallagher was on the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol list earlier this month.

The Edmonton native has four goals and six assists in 25 games this season.
