The Montreal Canadiens announced Friday afternoon that defenceman Kaiden Guhle will miss the team’s game against the Washington Capitals on Saturday with a lower-body injury.

The 20-year-old left Thursday’s loss to the Florida Panthers after getting tangled up with Aleksander Barkov behind Montreal’s net in the third period.

The 16th-overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, Guhle has produced two goals and 14 points in 36 games with the Canadiens this season.

Montreal currently has a 15-18-3 record that has the team sitting in 14th place in the Eastern Conference. After taking on the Capitals on Saturday, the Canadiens’ next game comes on Tuesday when they host the Nashville Predators.
