Canadiens’ Hoffman questions Greer’s one-game suspension for cross-checking

Montreal Canadiens forward Mike Hoffman says he hasn't spoken with the department of player safety, and talks about his Instagram story addressing the suspension given to A.J. Greer.

Montreal Canadiens forward Mike Hoffman doesn’t seem too happy about A.J. Greer‘s one-game suspension.

The Boston Bruins forward cross-checked Hoffman in the face during a faceoff in Thursday’s 4-2 Bruins win over the Canadiens. Greer received a game misconduct penalty and was handed a one-game suspension on Friday.

Hoffman begged to differ. He took to his Instagram stories to question whether Greer’s suspension was enough.

“So I’ve gotten a two-game suspension for cross-checking a guy in the back of the helmet,” he said, displaying a large scar below his bottom lip. “A full-blown cross-check to the face, one game. Huh.”

Hoffman has collected 29 points (12 goals, 17 assists) in 58 games for the Canadiens so far this season.
