Mired in a four-game losing streak entering another homestand on Wednesday, Vancouver Canucks owner Francesco Aquilini is set to meet with general manager Jim Benning on Tuesday, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.

Despite the team’s issues on the ice, the meeting isn’t about a potential change at GM. It’s to gauge why the team is struggling and to understand why it’s occurring.
The Canucks returned home from a three-game road trip having been outscored 19-6, all losses, which included 7-1 and 5-1 thumpings from the Colorado Avalanche and Anaheim Ducks, respectively.
Vancouver made a number of off-season changes, including trading for defenceman Oliver Ekman-Larsson and forward Conor Garland, who signed a five-year contract with the Canucks after he was acquired.
Benning has one year remaining on his current contract, while head coach Travis Green agreed to a two-year extension in May.
