The Vancouver Canucks announced Saturday that forward Vasily Podkolzin has been recalled from the team’s AHL affiliate, the Abbotsford Canucks.

Forwards Phillip Di Giuseppe and Nils Aman have also been recalled to the NHL squad.

Podkolzin, 21, has been with Abbotsford since Nov. 29. After a successful rookie campaign in Vancouver last year, Podkolzin notched just three assists and no goals in his 16 games to start off the 2022-23 season.

In his 28 AHL appearances since, Podkolzin has collected seven goals and 11 assists.

Di Giuseppe, 29, has played just one game with Vancouver this season. Aman, 22, has been a much more regular fixture with the team, playing 35 games and recording five points.

Nils Hoglander however, remains with Abbotsford after being sent down on Dec. 20. With nine points in 25 games this season in Vancouver, the 22-year-old has also found better success in the minors, earning six goals and seven assists in 19 games since joining the AHL.
