Canucks to face Predators in Round 1 after Stars clinch top spot in West

Halford and Brough break down the first round series between the Vancouver Canucks and Nashville Predators, and give their picks and predictions, and why they're thinking it's going to be a hard fought matchup that will go 6 or 7 games.

The Vancouver Canucks have locked in their playoff opponent for the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Dallas Stars secured the top spot in the Western Conference after securing a point in regulation against the St. Louis Blues. This means that the Canucks will finish second in the conference and take on the Nashville Predators in Round 1.

Vancouver took home the top spot in the Pacific Division while Nashville locked themselves in the first wild-card spot.

The Stars will have to wait until the end of Thursday’s schedule to find out who they will play in the first round.

The Los Angeles Kings currently occupy the second wild-card spot in the West. They would need a victory and a loss or one point by the Vegas Golden Knights to move up to third in the Pacific.
