Washington Capitals star Evgeny Kuznetsov has been added to NHL’s COVID-19 Protocol list, per Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.

The 28-year-old, along with goalie Ilya Samsonov, was reportedly held out of the Capitals’ 6-3 win over the New York Rangers on Monday for disciplinary reasons.

This is the second time this season Kuznetsov has spent time on the NHL’s COVID-19 list after being among a group of Capitals who joined its ranks near the end of January when the team was also fined $100,000 for violating coronavirus protocols.

Kuznetsov has 29 points in 49 games for the Capitals this season, his eighth in Washington.
