Capitals’ Kuznetsov, Predators’ Josi added to NHL all-star weekend rosters

Nashville Predators captain Roman Josi and Washington Capitals forward Evgeny Kuznetsov have been added as injury replacements for next weekend’s NHL all-star events.

Josi replaces Nathan MacKinnon on the Central Division roster while Kuznetsov replaces Adam Fox on the Metropolitan Division roster. Dallas Stars forward Joe Pavelski will replace MacKinnon as captain of the Central team.

Josi will be attending his fourth all-star game. The 11-year veteran is having another point-per-game campaign, with 43 points in 43 games and is tied with Cale Makar for third in defenceman scoring.

Kuznetsov will be participating in his second all-star game. He is in the midst of a bounceback campaign, with 43 points in 42 games this season.

The NHL All-Star Weekend will be hosted by the Vegas Golden Knights on Feb. 4-5. The 2022 NHL All-Star Skills event can be seen on Feb. 4 on Sportsnet beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET. The 2022 All-Star Game — featuring the four divisions competing in a three-on-three tournament — can be seen on Feb. 5 on Sportsnet beginning at 3 p.m. ET.
