Another member of the Golden Misfits is on his way out of Vegas.

The Carolina Hurricanes signed forward William Carrier to a six-year, $12 million contract, worth $2 million AAV, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Monday.

Carrier, 29, is one of the original members of the Golden Knights, taken from the Buffalo Sabres in the 2017 expansion draft.

Carolina officially announced the move on Wednesday.

“William is a physical forward who competes hard at both ends of the ice,” said
Hurricanes general manager Eric Tulsky in a release by the team. “He is relentless on the forecheck and difficult to play against. We’re excited to add his veteran presence to our lineup.”

The LaSalle, Que. native dealt with an upper-body injury last season and was placed on the LTIR. He still tallied six goals and two assists in 39 games in the regular season and one goal in seven games against the Dallas Stars in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
