Winnipeg Jets head coach Rick Bowness said Thursday that forward Morgan Barron will undergo wrist surgery Friday and is expected to be out of the lineup for four-to-five weeks.

Barron has played nine games this season with all four of his points — one goal and three assists — coming in his last five appearances.

The 23-year-old from Halifax was drafted in the sixth round, 174th overall, by the New York Rangers in 2017 and was traded to the Jets prior to the deadline last season as part of the Andrew Copp deal.

Barron has four goals and 10 points over three seasons with the Rangers and Jets.
