The Tampa Bay Lightning have postponed a pair of pre-season games because of concerns about the impact of Hurricane Ian, which was expected to make landfall in southern Florida on Monday.

The games, which were scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday against Carolina and Nashville, were to be played at Tampa’s Amalie Arena.

The National Hurricane Centre in the U.S. has said “a life threatening storm surge is possible along much of the Florida west coast, with the highest risk from Fort Myers to the Tampa Bay region.”
