Lightning sign defenceman Alex Green to two-year, entry-level contract

The Tampa Bay Lightning signed defenceman Alex Green to a two-year, entry-level contract Wednesday.

Green appeared in 29 games during his junior year with Cornell University in 2019-20, recording seven goals and 16 points. He was named the conference’s best defensive defenceman and was selected to the All-ECAC Hockey third team.

The Chicago native played in 78 games for Cornell over his three-year tenure. During that time, he accumulated 10 goals and 30 points with a plus-23 rating.

Green was selected by the Lightning in the fourth round of the 2018 NHL Draft.
