The New York Islanders have signed defenceman Jesse Pulkkinen to a three-year, entry-level contract. Dan Milstein, the player’s agent, announced the deal on X.

The six-foot-six, 19-year-old was selected by the Islanders in the second round of the 2024 NHL draft 54th overall.

Pulkkinen split the 2023-2024 season between pro and junior teams in Finland’s Liiga. The left-handed blueliner spent the majority of the year at the big league level with JYP Jyväskylä where he posted two goals and six assists through 29 games.
