Oilers defenceman Dmitri Samorukov out six weeks with broken jaw

The Edmonton Oilers prospects defeated the Calgary Flames prospects 4-3 in the rookie camp tournament.

Edmonton Oilers defenceman Dmitri Samorukov is expected to be out six weeks after suffering a broken jaw in a rookie game against the Calgary Flames on Saturday, the team announced on Sunday.

Samorukov spent last season with CKKA Moscow of the KHL, notching two goals and six assists in 48 games.

The 22-year-old Russian was a third-round pick (84th overall) by Edmonton in the 2017 NHL Draft.

Samorukov played his junior hockey with the Ontario Hockey League’s Guelph Storm.
